Striped Ties

Traditionally, striped ties in Classic Menswear were almost always associated with the club, scholastic, or affiliation ties in Repp stripes. Common varieties include printed stripes or jacquard-woven stripes. Still, in recent years, shantung stripes have gained prominence because they soften the traditional stripe patterns and look especially fetching with all casual garments.

This two-tone styling makes our shantung ties especially versatile, and they can pair effortlessly with classic business outfits and casual combinations.

Sensational Shantung Silk. The distinctively pebbled texture of shantung silk, with its iconic knobs, is a mainstay of menswear. At Fort Belvedere, we improved these unique characteristics by adding finer silk yarn in a contrasting color, producing a beautifully rich two-tone pairing that catches the light and emphasizes the silk’s texture without appearing shiny and cheap. Exclusively woven for Fort Belvedere on heritage Italian looms, this shantung is unlike any other shantung in the world. You can rest assured that this fabric cannot be found elsewhere.

3-Fold Construction. Many ties are made with an unlined 6- or 7-fold construction that is soft and flimsy, causing lank, unappealing knots and a wrinkled tie. Fort Belvedere neckties are 3-fold constructed with a simple wool interlining, improving the overall structure and drape of the tie while allowing for fantastic knots. The discerning eye may notice the lining visible through the open pores, creating the impression of a solid tie with a sophisticated twist that will impress genuine clothing aficionados.

Handmade. Fort Belvedere ties are entirely sewn by hand, giving them improved flexibility and designs that are functional and beautiful. Our lined ties have an interlining of merino wool that is wonderfully soft while also giving the necktie improved structure and drape, ensuring full, elegant knots.

Signature 3-Ply Silk Yarn. Fort Belvedere uses sturdy 3-ply silk yarn from Germany in the hand sewing of our neckties, which gives the neckties improved wear and longevity. The silk yarn is also in our distinctive shade of forest green for a unique and unexpected style cue. Perfectly Sized. This necktie is available in three different sizes so that you can pick the necktie that is perfectly proportioned to you.

Size

Almost all retailers sell their ties as one-size-fits-all. A handful offer neckties that are either longer or shorter. At Fort Belvedere, we cater to the needs of every man, whether of modest, average, or above-average height, which is why we are proud to offer neckties in three distinct sizes.

The dimensions of our neckties are proportional to your height. The following chart will guide you as to which of our necktie lengths is right for you.

SHORT: For those who are 5’8” or 173 cm or shorter.
REGULAR: For those who are around 5’11 or 180 cm tall.
LONG: For those who are 6’3” or 190 cm or taller.

Please note that if you prefer to wear trousers with a higher rise and are in-between sizes, it may be better to size down so that the necktie does not fall below your waistband when tied.
