White Pocket Square with Polka Dot Detailing

  • Crafted from Genuine 100% Linen
  • Hand Embroidered by Skilled Italian Artisans
  • Unique Contrast Polka Dot Detailing
  • Made with Traditional HandRolled Edges
  • Two Ways to Style

How to Style This Pocket Square

When worn in a fold that hides the polka dot detailing, this pocket square can serve exactly like a plain white linen pocket square, suitable for any occasion or formality, even up to Black Tie and White Tie. When the polka dot detailing is on display, however, it provides unique and unexpected visual interest, especially when others notice how fine the hand-embroidered detailing is.

Crisp White with Navy Blue Detailing

This pocket square consists of a plain white border with polka dot detailing in navy blue on the corners. As a result, how you choose to fold this pocket square will greatly impact how it should be styled.

Folds that show only the body can be worn with anything, as a white linen pocket square is a universal accessory. Folds that show the corners will provide the navy blue detailing as a contrasting element that can be used to emphasize other blue elements in your ensemble or to highlight complementary colors like orange.

The Fabric of Pharaohs: Linen

Linen has been a mainstay of classic menswear for years and employed generally since the time of the ancient Egyptians, being valued for its unique texture, breathability, and soft hand. Fort Belvedere sources the linen for all of our accessories from a heritage Italian mill specializing in producing only the finest examples of this versatile and refined fabric.

Italian linen is crafted to withstand time, making it a durable fabric that can last for years, even with frequent use. With its natural sheen and ability to drape beautifully, Italian linen exudes an air of sophistication and refinement that enhances any setting.

Linen is also an environmentally friendly choice; being a natural fiber, it is biodegradable. Also, the flax plant, from which linen is made, requires less water than other crops to cultivate.

Contrary to common belief, linen is relatively easy to care for, being able to withstand spot cleaning as needed and requiring only a quick iron or steam to quickly eliminate wrinkles.

Care

Cleaning

To protect its hand-rolled edges, we recommend that you not fully immerse your pocket square in water to clean it. Instead, create a solution of tepid water and mild detergent and carefully spot clean any stains.

Should your pocket square require more thorough cleaning, you can take it to a dry cleaner that specializes in handling delicate accessories. Remind them to be careful when cleaning around the handrolled edges.

Storage

Because it is so lightweight, linen as a fabric is naturally very prone to wrinkling. To reduce unnecessary wrinkling, always remove your linen pocket square from your pocket after wearing it.

Lay it flat in a cool, dry location for a few hours to allow the material to naturally relax and to avoid setting in any wrinkles or creases.

Removing Wrinkles

To remove wrinkles, use a garment steamer set to hot to work out the wrinkles. You can also use an iron set to the Linen setting with a piece of cotton cloth between the linen and the iron.

Lightly sprinkling the underside of the pocket square with water will help relax wrinkles more quickly.

Be sure to only iron the center of the pocket square and do not run your iron over the edges, as it could ruin the effect of the hand-rolled edges by flattening them.

What makes this linen pocket square from Fort Belvedere special?

Pocket squares are one of the easiest and quickest ways to improve the overall look of your outfit, but it all depends on the elegance, timelessness, and versatility of the pocket square: not all are created equal!

This pocket square is made from exceptional linen sourced from an exclusive and heritage Italian mill. Its corners have been decorated with hand-embroidered polka dot detailing in gorgeous navy blue thread.

Most significantly, nearly all other pocket squares are too small because they are simply cut to get the biggest yield from the piece of fabric it is made off. At Fort Belvedere we determine the size of each square by the specific fabric used so you end up with the perfectly sized pocket square that will neither disappear in your chest pocket nor create any bulk.

A pocket square cannot improve your look if it vanishes into your pocket or spoils the lines of your jacket, after all!

Details & Specs

White Linen Pocket Square with Blue Hand Embroidered Polka Dots Spots - Fort Belvedere
  • Made from Pure Italian Linen

Linen is a decadent and functional fabric that has been employed in menswear for millennia. Fort Belvedere sourced this linen from an Italian mill. Compared to linen from, for instance, Ireland, Italian linen is generally softer and has a finer hand. Nevertheless, Italian linen is sufficiently crisp to hold folds well and not collapse down into your pocket.

  • Dynamic Polka Dot Pattern

Polka dots have endured as a common pattern in Classic Menswear for centuries because they add a touch of personality and style without being overwhelming. The consistent, evenly spaced dots provide a subtle yet sophisticated visual interest that can easily be paired with other pieces in a man's wardrobe.

  • Hide or Emphasize the Embroidery

When worn in a fold that obscures the borders of the pocket square, such as a puff fold, this pocket square appears to be a simple white linen pocket square suited to all occasions and formalities. By employing a fold that highlights the embroidered corner, however, you instantly display the hand-embroidered detailing, perfect for a night on the town, bachelor parties, or simply as a conversation started.

  • Meticulously Hand-Rolled Edges

Although an expensive and time-consuming process, the edges of this Fort Belvedere pocket squares have been rolled by hand to ensure a neat and sophisticated look, in contrast to machine-made edges that are obviously so flat and regimented that they appear cheap. This edge treatment also improves the durability and longevity of the pocket square as it reinforces the areas of most regular wear and tear.
