Light Tan Lamb Nappa Touchscreen Gloves with Denim Blue Contrast

Beautifully cut, colorful gloves were once a defining mark of a gentleman, and at Fort Belvedere, you can revive this stylish sartorial tradition with insulating gloves to keep your hands warm, sophisticated formal gloves for fancy occasions, and even dashing driving gloves!

Explore our extensive selection of handmade dress gloves in classic, elegant colors that range from refined gray to exuberant red. Our lamb nappa is sourced from Italy, and our peccary leather comes directly from Peru and is tanned in Germany before being assembled by artisanal Hungarian glove makers who have been perfecting their craft for centuries. We also offer unlined gloves, gloves lined with cashmere, and gloves lined with rabbit fur.

What’s my glove size?

To help you find your glove size, we have created an in-depth video that shows exactly how to measure your hand and employ our size chart to determine your perfect fit every time.

As implied by the expression “to fit like a glove,” dress gloves were traditionally worn with a relatively tight fit to appear as trim and elegant as possible. Therefore, if you are in-between sizes, we generally recommend sizing down: as the leather stretches, it will conform perfectly to your hand’s dimensions.

These particular gloves run about a half size smaller than our other gloves so you should expect to size up half a size: for instance, if you are usually a size 8.5, for this particular pair of gloves, you should order a size 9.

What makes these gloves special?

● Superior Italian Leather. Italy is renowned for its artisanal leather production, and these gloves are an example of this ancient heritage. Proper glove leather must be soft but durable, flexible but structured, and we have sourced a lamb nappa leather that does all of this is, and is exceptionally soft.

● Heritage Hand Sewn Construction. These gloves were carefully assembled by artisanal glove makers who have been perfecting their art for decades. The flexibility and movement of these gloves are unparalleled, as is their comfort, because extensive handiwork ensures that every stitch is neat and beautiful but also pliable and forgiving, offering an unparalleled wearing experience.

● Versatile Tan. Neutral colors don’t have to be boring, and these gorgeous tan gloves will effortlessly harmonize with almost any ensemble, evoking the fine day gloves worn by gentlemen of yore. The addition of denim blue affords even more opportunities for color matching as blue is the most common color in menswear. The result is a pair of gloves that will harmonize with nearly every ensemble, from casual jackets to overcoats, but still make a memorable impression.

Gorgeously Colorful Detailing. Drab gloves did not suffice during the Golden Age of Menswear, so in that spirit we added tasteful visual interest wherever we could.

a. Elegant Contrast Stitching. Contrast stitching emphasizes the classic lines of the gloves and highlights the artisanal craftsmanship that produced these fine stitches that were all sewn by hand. This denim blue shines beautifully against the tan, appearing lighter and brighter while making the tan appear richer and deeper.

b. Functional and Beautiful Leather Inserts. The interdigital space, or area between your fingers, requires flexibility to be comfortable and reinforcement of the leather to prevent excess wear. We have achieved both with all-leather, never synthetic, inserts that allow a full range of motion so your fingers can move freely even when encased in gloves. Quirks, in the groin between the digits, ensure even greater mobility and are a beautiful dark forest green.

c. High-Contrast Decorative Points. Points, the raised vertical lines that appear on the back of the hand, are the most classic decoration for men’s gloves. We have ornamented our points with two-tone contrast stitching and a dignified undulating pattern.

5. Ten-Finger Touchscreen Capability. From phones to navigation systems, touchscreens are everywhere nowadays. Recognizing that it can be a hassle to remove your gloves every time you want to use a touchscreen device, we set out to develop gloves that were touchscreen functional. After experimenting with coatings on the inside of the gloves and not being satisfied with the results, we found that the best solution was to add a touchscreen-enabling substance directly to the leather during the tanning and dyeing process.

This coating makes the gloves extremely responsive on touchscreens, but it does impart a slightly stiffer feel to the glove leather. While the gloves will become softer with time, the presence of the touchscreen-enabling chemicals prevents these gloves from feeling as soft and supple, or as stretchy, as our other gloves. If you do not require the ability to use touchscreen and would prefer the ultimate in softness, we recommend our regular pairs of peccary or lamb nappa gloves.

6. Button Closure. To ensure a good seal at the throat and a close fit overall, gloves historically featured a button closure at the wrist. As a cost-saving measure, this functionality has practically disappeared, but at Fort Belvedere, we are proud to reintroduce this important feature. Wrapped in leather, our green button closure ensures that the glove sits tightly on the wrist so it lies neatly under your sleeve. For a dash of sprezzatura charm, however, you can leave your gloves nonchalantly unbuttoned for a more rakish appearance.

7. Cashmere Lined. Alpaca and cashmere are the two best linings for gloves, the former being generally warmer and the latter being generally softer. Because these are dress-day gloves not necessarily intended for extreme temperatures, we decided to line this pair in deliciously soft cashmere. Left in its natural mottled oatmeal color, this cashmere was spun, plied, finished, and knitted in Italy according to our exacting standards to ensure a proper fit and maximum comfort.

Caring for Your Light Tan Lamb Nappa Touchscreen Gloves with Denim Blue Contrast

All of our leathers have been carefully sourced and tanned for longevity and durability, but there are simple steps that you can take to keep your gloves looking their best and feeling as
comfortable as possible for years to come.

After wearing your gloves, store them flat with the fingers stretched out. Never leave your gloves balled up or crumpled.

If a portion of your gloves gets wet, it may develop water stains. If an area of your gloves is darker than the rest after getting wet and then drying, wet the entire glove with clean water and then allow it to air dry for several days. The gloves will then be returned to their uniform appearance.

In most cases, your gloves can be washed with just clean water. If you want to use a cleanser, we suggest a dedicated glove-leather cleaner or a very mild product like baby soap or shampoo. Never use artificial cleaners.

Never wring your gloves dry. Instead, lay the gloves flat with the fingers extended on a towel and layer another towel on top to remove excess water. Then, air dry the gloves for a few days, keeping them clear of artificial heat sources like a radiator, hair dryers, and the like, because they could discolor or damage the leather.

Note that after cleaning, your gloves may feel slightly stiff. Simply wear them regularly to break them back in and they shall return to their previous softness.
