Over the years, we received many requests from our readers for certain products mentioned in our articles. More often than not, a good source for these products was not available and thus inspired Gentleman's Gazette founder Sven Raphael Schneider to create the brand Fort Belvedere. Over two years, Mr. Schneider searched four continents to find outstanding artisans and source materials to personally design Fort Belvedere's unique products in top-notch quality and style.
Fort Belvedere was the favorite country house of the classic style icon, the Duke of Windsor, Edward VIII. There, together with his future wife Wallis Simpson, he would throw elegant white tie parties and organize hunting events. He was the arbiter elegantiarum and most photographed man in the world at the time, spending his most glorious days at Fort Belvedere. Ironically, Fort Belvedere was also the place were he signed his abdication and became the Duke of Windsor. Subsequently, he was exiled in France but the legendary style and pedigree of Fort Belvedere will never be forgotten. The name Fort Belvedere was the perfect match for our brand because we are unquestionably about style, old world quality and elegance.
During the process of creating and designing products one aspect always reigned above all others: quality. We had ties made in the United States, England, France, Italy, Germany, China and Vietnam and unexpectedly, we received the best results from Vietnam. The handwork was finer and more sophisticated than the ties from any other country, the attention to detail was second to none and the precision and consistency was unparalleled. Hence, Fort Belvedere manufacture ties in Vietnam. The facilities are audited regularly by the German organization SOCAM to assure compliance with safe and reasonable working conditions and hours.
At the present, Fort Belvedere is exclusively available on the website of the Gentleman's Gazette. Rest assured that you will have a unique piece that you won't find anywhere else!
