This wallet is crafted in the classic bifold style, featuring a long central pocket that's neatly divided into two compartments by a full-leather separator. This design provides the perfect organization solution for different currencies during travel, or for separating cash from receipts, tickets, and miscellaneous paper items. Incorporated within each side of the fold are panels, each with four slots designed to hold cards, totaling eight cardholders altogether for a secure and handy place to keep all your credit cards, IDs, and other types of cards. In crafting this wallet, our aim was to embody the essence of the classic bifold while achieving the ultimate balance between a slender silhouette and generous storage space. We insisted on utilizing premier full-grain leather in abundant quantities to ensure its longevity.

The meticulous craftsmanship involved in skiving the intersections is designed to minimize thickness, and the selection of materials for the core and lining has been executed with precision to maintain a sleek profile. Our innovative approach extends to the redesigning of the central compartment, effectively narrowing it to enhance the wallet’s slimness while preserving its capacity.

This wallet boasts eight specific card slots alongside a split central pocket, allowing for the effortless organization of essentials without significant bulk. Other manufacturers might resort to reducing their holder dimensions or packing card slots closer together, possibly resorting to synthetic liners in the main compartment. However, our deliberate design strategy has allowed us to achieve impressive thinness without sacrificing any functional elements inherent to the wallet. 

Please be aware that if you choose to double stack your cards, the leather will naturally stretch if the slot is double stacked for an extended period, meaning that it may become too loose to securely hold just a single card. This issue is easily resolved by simply keeping two cards in any slot that has conformed to hold two cards.

1. Quality Leather: The wallet is crafted from unaltered full-grain leather sourced solely from English bulls.

Why is this significant?

Leather sourced from cows that have calved often has stretched hides, which can mar the leather's aesthetics. In contrast, bull hides do not exhibit these imperfections, ensuring that the leather retains its pristine, natural look without resorting to synthetic alterations.

a. Artisanal Tannery: The leather for this wallet was meticulously crafted by a traditional Italian tannery with more than a hundred years of history. This establishment prides itself on creating the highest quality open-pored leathers, upholding the esteemed legacy of Italian craftsmanship. In parallel, the tannery is committed to sustainable sourcing, ensuring fair working conditions, and actively reducing its ecological footprint.

b. Smooth Texture with Velveteen Finish: Our Americana leather has been finished to offer a supple tactile experience not unlike the effect of velveteen. With age, the leather will gain a warm shine and become somewhat darker and richer. With no topcoat covering, you are able to experience the leather itself directly with every touch.

c. Becomes More Beautiful with Age: The vintage gold Americana leather for this wallet has been thinly waxed: scratches and knicks will appear prominently until they are lightly buffed out. Then, as the oils and waxes recollect, any minor damage will be subsumed into the base color, adding a unique tonal variation to the leather as the leather ages gracefully. As a result, with time and use, this wallet will become its own work of art, a unique accessory that fully tells your story.  

d. Stunning Vintage Gold Dye: This wallet has been dyed a stunning vintage gold. Thanks to our aniline-dyeing process, the dye has been fully absorbed into the leather in a procedure that can take over 12 hours, ensuring a long-lasting color that won’t fade and will bring out the patina of the leather as the carrier ages. Sunny and warm, this color, combined with the feel of the leather, has a rugged appearance that is ideal for more casual ensembles.

Incredible Color Depth: Thanks to our dyeing process and proprietary waxes and oils applied to the leather, this vintage gold tan leather offers an unparalleled depth and “pull up” effect: when the leather is gently stretched, you can see the full range of colors and textures present within the leather.

When fully loaded with one card in each slot, the thickness changes from just under 14 mm to 23 mm or from 0.55” to 0.90”

Our innovative process involves skiving the leather to an ultra-thin profile, effectively dispelling any notions of unwieldiness. 5. Thinned Folded Edges: The integrity and long-lasting nature of leather wallets are often hinged upon the quality of their edges. The majority of wallets in the market are constructed with edges that are simply sliced, then finished off with paint or a burnishing process. However, this method of edge finishing is prone to wear and tear, leading to cracks over time. At Fort Belvedere, we adopt a more meticulous approach: our wallet edges are carefully beveled before they are folded and securely stitched. This technique not only achieves an even edge thickness but also substantially diminishes edge wear. Consequently, our wallets with folded edges generally endure at least twice as long compared to those with edges that are merely painted or burnished.

a. Folded External Edges. Both pieces of leather along the edges of the wallet have been carefully folded. Whereas our competitors may fold only one piece, if they fold their edges at all, we have folded both to ensure the neatess possible look and the most durable construction.

b. Smoothed Corner Radius: Overly pointed edges on wallets catch on your clothes and become crumpled with use and age. Each exterior edge of this wallet has been rounded, ensuring smooth access and a subtle, organic appearance.

6. Elegant Contrast Stitching: Our delicate cream stitching offers a gentle contrast to the classic vintage gold hue of the wallet, lending a touch of elegance. This feature not only enhances the visual appeal but also showcases the exceptional craftsmanship. Each precise and intricate stitch is meticulously displayed. Considering the artisans can only view one side during the process, the level of detail necessitates a heightened degree of precision and expertise. The contrasting stitches are added towards the final stages of production, requiring the craftsmen to proceed with utmost caution. Any error at this point would result in the discarding of the entire piece.

7. Eight Card Slots hold up to Sixteen Cards: The dedicated slots of this wallet were designed to hold eight cards, but each slot can hold an additional card if desired. Be aware that the leather of that slot will conform to hold two cards and will become too loose to securely hold a single card if “double stacked” for a few days. That being said, we do not recommend double stacking, as it makes your wallet quite thick.

a. Folded Edges on Card Slots: Most wallets feature card slots with edges that are just sliced open, which may lead to fraying or snagging over time, potentially resulting in the slots' deterioration. In contrast, our leather card slots boast precision-folded edges to enhance durability and present a refined look, accentuated by an embossed horizontal line for added sophistication. The slots are reinforced with robust stitching to ensure your cards remain securely in place, even with prolonged use, while maintaining enough flexibility to allow for easy retrieval of each card.

8. Divided Central Pocket. This wallet features a main compartment that spans its entire length, perfect for keeping cash, receipts, tickets, and various small paper items. An all-leather partition divides this space into two segments, providing an excellent way to separate and arrange your funds—perhaps by denominating larger from smaller bills or by different currencies. Alternatively, you can dedicate one side to currency storage and the other for miscellaneous items.  

9. Quality Backing and Lining for Slimness and Ease of Use: A wallet crafted purely from leather, while aesthetically pleasing and resilient, would unfortunately become excessively thick. We've adeptly implemented a high-grade moire lining in areas such as the backing for the cardholder panel and within the slots to maintain a discreet profile for the wallet. This careful choice ensures the wallet's longevity isn't compromised, yet significantly enhances its thinness.  

The wallet showcases a stunning forest green moire fabric crafted in Italy that not only adds a striking visual contrast to the leather but is practical too. Tests with an all-leather design resulted in an overly cumbersome wallet – increased thickness without a corresponding increase in sturdiness was observed. Conversely, the chosen viscose fabric achieves an unmatched sleekness, upholding robustness simultaneously.  

The wallet's design prioritizes not just a slender silhouette but also reinforces its structural integrity for improved durability. The special fabric's slick nature aids in the effortless removal of cards from their pockets, contributing to its functional elegance. It's been deliberately selected to complement the leather, ensuring the creation of the slimmest possible leather wallet.  

Furthermore, this particular viscose fabric undergoes a special treatment to resist fraying upon cutting, guaranteeing lasting endurance and a seamless, polished edge finish. Meticulously chosen adhesives allow for solid attachment to the leather, boosting the wallet's longevity and maintaining its pristine aesthetics.

10. Tastefully Debossed: The name and crest of Fort Belvedere are debossed on the left inside panel of the wallet, discreetly identifying the maker of this fine product in a refined and unobtrusive way.

11. Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) Blocking: To protect you in an ever-changing world, the exterior of this wallet has been specially treated to block RFID signals that could be used to access your cards and steal your money or information. This treatment has been carefully applied between the leather and the moire on the outside layer so that it does not adversely affect the appearance or hand of the leather.
